Job Description
• Test and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and test equipment by aligning, testing, and troubleshooting down to the component level all types of digital, and analog circuitry.
• Set up and operate all types of standard and special purpose laboratory equipment including environmental stress screening and computer-controlled equipment.
• Implement routine preventive maintenance tasks on test equipment.
• Measures parts for conformity with specifications.
• Alert supervisors to test failure trends.
• At times may disassemble and reassemble production assemblies and equipment and inspect components for defects.
• Maintain legible records of daily tasks and test data, and logs data into a computer database.
• Derive formulas and generate innovative techniques to aid in the troubleshooting process of production failures.
• Assist engineers in formulating test procedures and evaluating prototype circuitry and production failure trends.
Job Skills
• Associates Degree or equivalent with 3 -10 years’ experience in electronic environment.
• Requires a working knowledge in troubleshooting of digital, analog, circuits, devices, and test equipment, with the ability to read and understand schematic and logic diagrams.
• Must have in depth knowledge of component marking and identification.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others and be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to read and interpret English and write legibly.
• Must be able to derive and utilize algebraic formulas governing the operation of fundamental electronic circuits.
• Strong analytical skills required being effective in troubleshooting and repairing products and test equipment. Must apply complete attention to test activities, including repetitive tests, to assure each assembly is thoroughly and accurately tested.
• Will be required to pass certifications specific to the job.
