Job Description

• Must be able to program a CNC machine (primarily milling) to meet the close tolerances and finish requirements of drawings presented to them.
• Perform his/her own set-up functions.
• Must have enough experience and knowledge to setup a job, prepare the equipment, and remove tooling and return it to the tool crib upon completion of the run.
• Required to check precision parts with close tolerance and finish requirements and adjust machine offsets.
• Responsible for keeping the CNC machine tools running and checking the parts being run
• Skilled in CNC Milling Setup.
• Program the CNC machine to meet drawing and rework requirements
• Must be able to adjust offsets on the machine and change inserts when needed
• Must be capable of performing setup functions.
• Must be able to tear down setups, return tooling to the tool crib and help prepare tooling for the next job.
• May also assist on equipment they are not familiar with to gain experience and learn new processes
• Check and verify machine maintenance has been done on equipment being operated.
• Basic knowledge and understanding i.e. speeds, feeds and coolants of the various raw materials being used in the fabrication of machined parts.

Job Skills

• The use of LeanSigma tools, i.e. KNP (Kaizen tracker) to identify process improvement
• High school graduate or equivalent, that is has had training in CNC Programming and Machining.
• 5+ years of manufacturing/production experience required
• Qualified candidate must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must be able to work from complex and detailed assembly blueprints, procedures, and/or verbal and written instructions
• Must be able to use a variety of hand tools, measuring equipment, fixtures, and simple machines.
• Sufficient knowledge of functional parameters to perform rework operations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to compute percent and to interpret complex and detailed blueprints.
• Ability to setup fixtures for complex machining operations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must pass background and reference checks, drug screen, and physical examination prior to employment.
