Job Description

• Responsible for the planning and coordination of material operations throughout the facilities complexes in direct support of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) and Core Team requirements.
• Utilizes the procurement systems such as E-Procurement, credit cards, web requisitions and inventory in a highly coordinated and organized manner.
• Works closely with craft supervision and directly ensures timely readiness, completion, notification and deployment of supplies and materials to the end users.
• Oversees proper flow of materials to ensure activities do not interfere with the predetermined work schedules.
• Reviews for completeness each bill of material required for general repair and preventative maintenance work orders.
• Contacts material suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and other related problems.
• Develops contingency plans for late deliveries and defective materials.
• Confirms delivered materials and supplies meet expectations.
• Will be required to systematize and organize materials based on individual work orders.
• Notifies the requestor that all materials and supplies are ready for deployment.
• As a PPM team member, works with the Purchasing and Inventory management to create and enhance rapid purchasing techniques to support ongoing activities.
• May be required to support special projects and assignments as needed.
• Reports to PPM’s Procurement Operations Manager and will be deployed and project charged within the Facilities and Operations Directorate.

Job Skills

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business, Technology, Mathematics or related field required, or equivalent.
• Minimum six (6) years of broad, relevant work experience including but not limited to knowledge of trades, material supplies and components (electrical, mechanical, architectural, etc.).
• Experience must also include principles and processes for providing customer service, quality standards for services and customer needs assessments.
• Strong working knowledge of Laboratory procurement and inventory management systems is essential.
• Demonstrated proficiency with procurement systems computerized maintenance management systems and technology such as computers, printers, scanners, etc. is required.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Primavera software is a plus.
• Must be highly organized, mathematical and methodical in approach to work (e.g. error-free and detailed oriented).
• Effective and clear communication skills with all levels of internal and external contacts is required.
• Must be able to follow complicated verbal instructions and perform essential arithmetic calculations.
• Must be able to pass physical and drug screening.
