Job Description

• Reads and interprets engineering design or production drawings, catalogues, or other pertinent data and specifications in order to determine inspection and test criteria or methods to assure conformance to applicable specifications and requirements.
• Functionally and visually inspects and tests product for proper design and operation using pneumatic service units, fittings, valves, valve terminals, cylinders, accessories, electric motors, drives & components, programmable logic controllers, sensors, test fixtures, test software and other required equipment.
• Inspects, verifies, and records accuracy of measurements and devices using inspection and measuring tools.
• Coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other required inspection measuring and test equipment.
• Performs timely failure analysis investigations of customer returned material to determine probable causes or modes of failure.
• Coordinates and communicates with company to resolve quality complaints from interested parties.
• Supports failure modes effects analysis activities for new product developments, and supports external supplier selection and evaluation activities including performance ratings. Participates in the Supplier Rating System (SRS) as an auditor evaluating the effective implementation of corrective / preventative actions for previously defective incoming material.
• Prepares quality system documents including operating procedures, work instructions, charts, visual aids, inspection drawings and reports.
• Performs Internal Quality Auditor duties for the ISO 9001:2008 based Quality Management System (QMS).
• Identifies negative quality trends and initiates appropriate corrective/preventative actions.
• Assures a timely response and feedback to the resolution of quality issues to management.

Job Skills

• Bachelors degree in Engineering required.
• Advanced Servo/Pneumatics experience desired
• Quality Assurance process experience, corrective action, complaint management system, failure analysis, SRS (supplier rating system)SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge and application desired
• Familiarity with Auto CAD, ISO 9001,2008 requirements and an understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and equipment / parts.
• OSHA knowledge desirable
