Job Description

  • Performs all levels of trouble shooting with minimal supervision and provides an overall disciplined approach to ensuring that all manufacturing and machine shop equipment is working properly, safely and is in calibration.
  • Responsible for lock out-tag out of any equipment that is not deemed safe.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on centrifuges, pumps, compressors, pneumatics, machinery, clean rooms, electrical and electronic equipment, production equipment and tooling. 
  • Must have basic electrical knowledge, electronics basics, such as ohms law, transistor, SCR and diode checks. Must be able to read schematics, blueprints and assembly drawings.  Must have soldering experience. 
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification a plus. 
  • Skill in the use of all types of power and hand tools are required. 

Job Skills

  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics including valves and solenoids. 
  • Must be computer literate using Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to perform basic electronic calibration of custom test boxes as per procedure and update calibration records accordingly with QA. 
  • May perform troubleshooting, tear down analysis and rework operations.
  • Training in Clean Room techniques a plus. 
  • May perform various marking operations using machines, laser, hand stamp and electro etching equipment. 
  • Must be able to perform complex test setups. 
  • May be called on to perform mechanical assembly which is typically complex and requires fitting, aligning or adjusting of components and/or assemblies to close tolerance. 
  • May also be required to perform electronic subassembly and assembly tasks of moderate complexity.
  • High school graduate or equivalent, that is currently attending or has completed a certificate program in any of the following disciplines: electrical, electronics, pneumatics or mechanical and have met all the requirements of Maintenance Repair Technician.
  • 5+ years of mechanical and or electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.   
  • Must be able to work from complex and detailed assembly blueprints, procedures, and/or verbal and written instructions.
  • Read, write (legibly), speak and understand English.
  • Above average retention.
  • Requires manipulative skills of a high level.  
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand tools, measuring equipment, fixtures, and simple machines.
  • Sufficient knowledge of functional parameters to perform trouble shooting, tear down analysis and rework operations. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 
  • Ability to use standard computer software Excel, Word,  and Power Point                                    
  • Ensure prompt and efficient production processing of customer orders and requirements.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance in any production department so that there is no down time due to equipment problems.
  • Responsible for turn-around-time, quick and decisive troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Drive process improvements efforts in R&O / A&T procedures, material flow.
  • Maintain audit preparedness, proactively addressing issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and diverse tasks within specified time frames
  • Physical Requirements: walk, sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, occasional lifting / moving up to 50lbs. 
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screening.
