Job Description
- Performs manufacturing methods and processes to obtain optimum production levels, improve product quality, and reduce costs during the initial design phase.
- Recommends changes in production methods and assembly processed to reduce cost and enhance efficiency.
- Attends design reviews; reviews and approves proposals. Ensures that the cost of “low cost” design approaches is properly estimated.
- Supports the procurement process to develop new low cost suppliers.
- Recommends equipment and machinery purchases and prepares cost estimates to support findings.
- Participates in Make/Buy decisions.
- May provide training to assembly personnel on specific methods and equipment.
Job Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or equivalent and a minimum of ten (10) years related experience are required.
- Must be familiar with tools and equipment used in the production area along with experience with RF/MW products.
- Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to exchange information and interface effectively with employees and/or customers clearly and concisely.
- US Security Clearance Required
