Job Description

• To control and maintain our ASME code quality department, with respect to vessels manufactured at company. • ASME code calculations using Design Calcs and Form Pro and other calculations performed manually. • Keeping records on all internal ASME vessels in our production system (Material certifications, partial data reports, welder’s log and traveler on each vessel) • Assure that all code welders are up to date on welding procedures that they are qualified to perform. Maintaining welders log on each ASME code welder. • Write new weld procedures if necessary, and make sure that we get one of our welders qualified for that procedure. • Work with the production manager and setup inspection visits with the Hartford Insurance company inspector on vessel fit-up and Hydro-testing of production vessels. Also assist the inspector during his visit (e.g. Show calculations weld procedures where required) to assure a smooth transition from vessel to vessel until all the inspections and tests are complete for the day. • Oversee all necessary Hydro-test, dye-penetrate & material thickness testing of vessels manufactured at company. • Coordinate with purchasing and production manager and schedule material and welds for impact, X- Ray inspection as required. • After final Hydro-test of all vessels assure that all calculations are complete, U1 data report is filled out and all material cert.’s and partial data reports are available and filed. • Responsibility for maintaining all ASME testing gauges for usability and accuracy. • Responsibility for preparation and assistance for our Annual ASME CODE review by the insurance company. This is a key job function to allow our shop to continue to fabricate and certify vessels as per ASME code section VIII Div.1

Job Skills

• Good knowledge of welding as it applies to pressure vessels. • Metallurgical background preferred • AutoCAD/Inventor experience preferred • 5 years Metal Fabrication and welding experience. • Required license or certification: Professional Engineer • Bachelor’s
