Job Description
• Set-up and perform testing of complex and intricate micro integrated circuits for VSWR, isolation, insertion loss, power output, etc.
• Tune microwave components with use of a microscope and small hand tools and troubleshoot circuits down to component level.
• Recognize failures and set up problems and determine need for appropriate corrective action.
• Operate a variety of programmable test equipment (i.e. automatic network analyzer, sweep generator, oscilloscope, pulse generator, meters, power supplies, etc.). Operate ATE’s.
• Work from written and verbal instructions, blueprint, test specs, and/or schematics.
• Perform wire bonding, gap welding and add/remove tuning wires and ribbons to repair/rework MICs during the test/tune process.
• Record and maintain test data.
• Interface with Engineering department to solve design problems.
• Assist lower level technicians with test set-ups.
• Maintain equipment and work area.
Job Skills
• AAS degree in Electronics Technology or technical school diploma and a minimum of ten – twelve (10-12) years related experience are required.
• Must have thorough understanding of MW theory/measurements and the ability to work with small hand tools and use microscope.
• Security clearance is required.
• Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to exchange information and interface effectively with employees, customers, and visitors clearly and concisely and must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
