Job Description

• Responsible for solving major and complex engineering problems in one or more phases of a development project involving the analysis, research, design, development, fabrication and testing of a device or system. Maintains system viewpoint from conception of product through development to final release. Performs work assignments that are broad in scope and works under general supervision.
• Conceives methods and alternatives for satisfying product goals, specifications and requirements of projects.
• Conducts product, market and literature research. Studies past projects for use in current projects.
• Investigates and performs studies on component parts to be used in project.
• Performs original complex circuit analysis and design work of system and component parts in accordance with specifications.
• Furnishes technical direction to Engineering, Technicians and Designers while developing breadboarding, wiring, debugging and testing is being performed.
• Plans tests to be conducted, develops necessary test equipment, arranges test set-ups, checks performance and evaluates results.
• Specifies procurement of specialized components and test equipment.
• May assist in preparation of bids and proposals. May participate in field tests, interfaces with customer or supplier offsite.
• Perform other duties as necessary and as assigned.

Job Skills

• BSEE, BSME, or BS in Applied Sciences.
• Master’s degree or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years experience.
• Ability to read schematics
• Ability to troubleshoot at system level both DC and RF related problems
• Ability to troubleshoot circuit logic
• Experience with: AC/DC measurement; Amplifiers; AutoCad; Block diagram usage to troubleshoot; Breadboard and Lab Testing; Cadence; Complex RF testing and measurement experience; Component Level troubleshooting; Couplers; Eagleware.
• Experience in troubleshooting at system level both DC and RF related problems; AutoCAD; RF test equipment and RF test procedures; Scalar Analyzers; Scalar Network Analyzers; Spectrum Analyzers; Vector Network Analyzers.
• Good Eye / Hand Coordination
• Microscope use
• Mixers
• RF experience
• RF measurement experience – Harmonic & Spurious
• Simulation Software – ADS
• Up converters/ down converters
