Job Description

• Reviewing the Customer Orders and planning the work for the production floor in order to meet the customer’s delivery requirements.
• Review backlog and create weekly production schedules for each Department/Work Center and set priorities as per customer demand and input from the sales department.
• Update schedule as jobs go from operation to operation.
• Develop methods to post schedules live so they are visible by everyone.
• Coordinator labor, machine and equipment in the most effective and economic manner.
• Monitor and plan around equipment maintenance and calibration schedules when planning production.
• Instituting necessary controls to complete the work according to schedule.
• Report shortages to purchasing when they impact the schedule.
• Work with purchase department for efficient and effective procurement of materials.
• Notify Customer Service of deliveries that will be late so they can notify the customer.
• Review “Performance Summary Reports” weekly to review estimated to actual labor for each Department, record data for trends and update routing labor times for accuracy.
• Monitor “On Time” delivery trends for the company and each product group.
• Establish routes and schedules for work that will ensure the optimum utilization of materials, workers and machines.
• Pull job paperwork for customer orders and stock jobs.
• Forecasting to predict customer demand on various standard products so they are in stock for a quick turn.
• Monitor all Return Materials and ensure they get scheduled for repair, replacement or credit is issued in a timely manner.

Job Skills

• Good math skills.
• Capability to read and understand some technical documentation, including quality system procedures and product manuals.
• Must be able to interface with both technical/non-technical personnel within the company, vendors and customers.
• Associates Degree and/or minimum 5 years experience in production planning, for a manufacturing firm.
