Job Description
• Plans, controls and directs the activities of a technical staff that is responsible for designing new Test equipment and fixtures; coordinating work with engineers to streamline the Test procedures in the transition of products from development to production; discussing layout and assembly procedures and problems with engineers.
• Investigating for the cause of product failures.
• Develops charts, graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate system’s operating characteristics, and malfunctions. Visit field locations to check functioning of newly installed Test equipment.
• Provides estimates of Testing costs used in the development of specific proposals or as estimates of jobs currently under production.
• Participates with manufacturing management and control in the development of work plans.
Job Skills
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 12 years related experience and/or training, with 3 years of managerial experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to review Test plans and procedures for feasibility and make recommendations for improvements.
