Job Description
- Responsible for laser system level and board level analog and digital hardware design. This includes microcontroller selection, power distribution, safety considerations, and thermal management.
- Perform design, simulation and test of analog/digital circuits and software.
- Define electrical requirements and work and support the broader team including optical, laser, mechanical and process engineers.
- Develop manufacturing test methodology and manufacturing process to release lasers electronics to manufacturing.
Job Skills
- 5+ years experience as an Electrical Engineer
- MS with 10 years experience or Ph.D. with 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar disciplines.
- Experience in developing architecture and system tradeoffs
- Experience interfacing analog circuits with embedded micro-controller, digital peripherals and PLCs.
- Experience with analog, mixed signal and close loop designs with OP-Amps, DACs, ADCs and passive components, preferred in a frequency range from DC to 1GHz.
- Experience with schematic capture and layout tools
- Some hands-on experience with PCB board soldering, testing and prototyping.
- Experience with embedded system programming
- Good written/verbal communication and project management skills.
