Job Description

  • Design Next Generation Energy Based Catheters, develop processes to make prototypes, develop automation to speed up manufacturing of energy based catheters
  • Works in a start-up like environment with a Development team to conduct DOEs on catheter materials and processes
  • Translate customer’s product requirements into achievable product specifications and design features
  • Works with a sense of urgency to meet customer needs and project schedule. 
  • Performs work under general supervision on multiple NPI projects.  Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. 
  • Provides leadership, periodic consulting, and training for less experienced team members
  • Lead initial technical reviews and cost estimation analysis of new products to support quote generation

Job Skills

  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred); M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering a plus.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of Catheter Design and Process Development experience.  Energy based catheter design and assembly experience is a plus.
  • Experience with customer interaction to understand requirements, conceptualize and design prototypes based on requirements with fast turnaround time.
  • Demonstrated aptitude of innovative mechanical and electrical design skills including but not limited to frequent use of 2D and 3D CAD (Pro/Engineer) modeling, GD&T, and prototype creation.
  • Medical product development experience and knowledge of FDA regulations preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical contribution through creative product design solutions that have been successfully launched into the market.
  • Demonstrated inventiveness through invention disclosures, patents, active participation in professional organizations, technical conference presentations, etc..
  • Advanced knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (e.g., plastic injection molding, machining, anodizing, soldering, automated assembly), sterilization, cable interconnect assemblies, bulk cable design principles, and advanced statistical techniques.
